Kaziranga is home to the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, along with Bengal tigers, wild elephants, swamp deer, and wild water buffaloes. The park also supports a rich variety of birdlife, attracting birdwatchers from around the world.

The landscape is defined by towering elephant grass, marshlands, riverine forests, and numerous water bodies shaped by the Brahmaputra River. Seasonal flooding plays a vital role in maintaining the park’s biodiversity, creating one of the most productive wildlife habitats in Asia.
