About Kanha
Located in the lush Maikal Hills of Madhya Pradesh, Kanha National Park is one of India’s most celebrated tiger reserves. Famous for its vast meadows, dense sal forests, and thriving wildlife, Kanha is often considered the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. The park is also globally recognized for the successful conservation of the rare Barasingha deer.

Kanha’s landscape is a striking combination of sal and bamboo forests, open grasslands, streams, and scenic valleys. The park shelters Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, gaur, deer species, and over 300 bird species.
Its large meadows, locally known as “maidans,” create spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities during morning and evening safaris, making Kanha a paradise for wildlife photographers and nature lovers.
