About Pench

Pench is a mosaic of dense forest, dry riverbeds, open meadows, and rocky hills. It’s home to over 40 tigers, making it one of the best places to track these elusive cats in central India.
Aside from tigers, you’ll find leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs (dholes), jackals, and over 300 species of birds—from crested serpent eagles to racket-tailed drongos. Herds of spotted deer grazing under golden sunlight, langurs leaping through branches, and the occasional alarm call are all part of Pench’s rhythm.
